Sell USDT to any Nigerian bank account
Send USDT to your Monica address and receive naira in any Nigerian bank on NIBSS within 60 seconds of the network confirming. 0% conversion fee, 0% bank withdrawal fee.
How the naira gets from USDT to your bank
Monica is a crypto off ramp. You send USDT to your Monica address, Monica converts it to naira at the live rate the moment the network confirms, and the naira goes out to any Nigerian bank on NIBSS. The flow is the same whether your account is at a commercial bank, a digital bank or a microfinance bank. This page explains the payout once; each bank linked further down has its own page with the steps for that bank.

Verify and add your bank account
Download Monica and verify once with your NIN plus a selfie. Then open Bank Accounts, choose your bank from the list and type your 10 digit account number. The app checks the account name before it saves.
Send USDT to your Monica address
In the app, open USDT and copy the deposit address for the network you are sending on. Send from any wallet or exchange, and choose the same network in both apps.
Monica converts the USDT to naira
Once the network confirms, the naira lands in your Monica balance at the live rate. 0% conversion fee. USDT deposits are free; you only pay the blockchain network fee on the sending side.
Withdraw to your bank
Tap Withdraw, pick the saved account and type the amount. 0% bank withdrawal fee, so the full amount reaches your bank over NIBSS, usually in seconds.
What can go wrong with a bank payout, and what Monica does
Monica checks the account name when you add a bank account. If the name that comes back does not match the account number, the app will not save it, so the naira cannot go to the wrong account by mistake.
Most NIBSS transfers post in seconds. If your bank is slow to show the credit, the naira is still on its way. If a transfer does fail, the amount returns to your Monica balance and you can withdraw again.
If your bank has placed a restriction on your account, the transfer fails at the bank and the naira returns to your Monica balance. Add a different bank account in your own name and withdraw there instead.
Monica credits USDT on the networks listed in the app. If you sent on a network that was not shown beside the address, write to [email protected] with the transaction hash and the team will check what can be done.
Which bank account details you need
You need three things: the name of your bank, your 10 digit NUBAN account number, and an account in your own name. You do not need a sort code, a SWIFT code or a branch. Monica looks up the bank code when you choose the bank from the list, and NIBSS routes the transfer from there.
The account must be a naira account. A domiciliary account holds dollars and cannot receive a naira transfer, so if you hold both at the same bank, add the naira account number and not the dollar one.
Digital banks and payment apps that issue a Nigerian account number, such as Opay, PalmPay, Moniepoint and Kuda, sit on NIBSS like any other bank and work the same way. Pick the app's name from the bank list and type the account number it gave you.
The name on the bank account should match the name on your NIN. Monica verifies you once, and the account name check at the bank step compares against that identity, so payouts go to accounts you own.
Which USDT network to send on
Monica accepts USDT on TRC20 (Tron), ERC20 (Ethereum), BEP20 (BNB Smart Chain) and Solana. Each network has its own deposit address in the app, so open USDT, pick the network, and copy that address. The wallet or exchange you are sending from must be set to the same network, or the transfer will not arrive.
The network fee is set by the blockchain, not by Monica, and you pay it on the sending side. Tron and Solana carry low network fees and usually confirm within a minute; Ethereum charges more in gas and can take a few minutes when it is busy. Monica's side is the same for all four networks: the naira is in your bank within 60 seconds of the network confirming.
The minimum deposit is $5 worth of USDT. Monica charges 0% conversion fee and 0% bank withdrawal fee. Deposits are free on USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, TRX and BNB; Bitcoin is the only coin with a deposit fee, a flat $2.
Questions about selling USDT to a bank account
Which banks can receive the naira when I sell USDT?
Any Nigerian bank on NIBSS: every commercial bank, every digital bank and every microfinance bank that issues a 10 digit account number. That includes the large commercial banks as well as apps such as Opay, PalmPay, Moniepoint and Kuda. The account has to be a naira account in your own name.
Do I need a bank code to receive naira?
No. In the app you choose your bank from a list and type your account number. Monica fills in the bank code and NIBSS routes the transfer from there. You do not need a sort code, a SWIFT code or a branch name, and you never type a bank code by hand.
Can the naira go to a mobile money account?
If the wallet gives you a Nigerian bank account number and appears in the bank list in the app, yes. Opay, PalmPay and Moniepoint accounts receive naira from Monica like any other bank. A wallet that only has a phone number and no account number on NIBSS cannot receive a bank transfer.
How long does the naira take to reach my bank?
The naira is in your bank within 60 seconds of the network confirming your USDT deposit. The network step depends on the chain you send on: Tron and Solana usually confirm within a minute, while Ethereum can take a few minutes when it is busy. The bank transfer itself goes over NIBSS in seconds.
What fees do I pay to sell USDT to my bank account?
0% conversion fee and 0% bank withdrawal fee. USDT deposits are free on every supported network. Bitcoin is the only coin with a deposit fee, a flat $2. The only other cost is the blockchain network fee, which you pay in the wallet you send from, not to Monica.
What do I need to verify before I can withdraw to my bank?
Your NIN and a selfie, done once in the app. After that you add a bank account in your own name, and Monica checks the account name against the account number before it saves. The minimum deposit is $5 worth of USDT, and there is no separate verification step for each withdrawal.
What happens if the bank transfer fails?
The naira comes back to your Monica balance. Failures usually come from the bank side, for example a restriction on the account or a bank outage. You can wait and try again, or add a different bank account and withdraw there. If the amount has not returned, write to [email protected] with the transaction details.
Can I split one USDT deposit across two bank accounts?
Yes. The USDT converts into one naira balance in the app, and you withdraw from that balance as many times as you like. Save both accounts under Bank Accounts, then make two withdrawals, one to each account. Each withdrawal carries the same 0% bank withdrawal fee.
