1The one rule that covers every wallet and exchange
Every wallet and exchange that holds real crypto has a Send or Withdraw button. That button asks for two things: an address and a network. Your Monica app gives you both. Open the wallet for the coin inside Monica, copy the address, and read the network label next to it. Paste the address into the source app and choose the same network in both apps. Nothing else about the source matters. A hardware wallet, a US payment app, a European bank app and a betting site all hand the coin to the blockchain the same way, and the blockchain hands it to Monica the same way.
Three things to check before you tap send. First, the coin matches: Bitcoin to your Monica Bitcoin address, USDT to your Monica USDT address. Second, the network matches: USDT on TRC20 goes to a TRC20 address, not an ERC20 one. Third, the amount is at least $5 worth of the coin, which is the Monica minimum deposit. Get those three right and the deposit arrives.
2Cash App: Bitcoin only
Cash App is a US payment app, and it is not available to open from Nigeria. Its crypto feature covers one coin, Bitcoin, and it allows Bitcoin withdrawals to an external Bitcoin address once the account has completed Cash App's own verification. People searching for "cash app convert bitcoin to cash" in Nigeria are usually holding Bitcoin in a relative's or client's Cash App abroad, or were paid into one while travelling.
To move that Bitcoin to naira, open the Bitcoin tab in Cash App, choose Send Bitcoin, select the option to send to an external wallet, and paste your Monica Bitcoin address. Monica's Bitcoin address sits on the Bitcoin network itself, so pick the regular Bitcoin network option rather than Lightning. Cash App sets its own network fee and sometimes its own minimum for external sends. Once the Bitcoin network confirms, Monica converts the Bitcoin and pays your bank. Bitcoin deposits on Monica carry a flat $2 fee; the other six coins are free to deposit.
3Trezor and other hardware wallets
A Trezor does not sell anything. It is a device that signs transactions, and Trezor Suite is the desktop or web app you use to send from it. "Trezor sell bitcoin" really means "send Bitcoin from my Trezor to somewhere that pays me". That somewhere is your Monica address.
In Trezor Suite, open your Bitcoin account, tap Send, paste the Bitcoin address from your Monica app, enter the amount, choose a fee level and confirm the address on the device screen before approving. The same steps work for Ethereum and for USDT or USDC held as tokens on the Ethereum network, using your Monica ETH, USDT or USDC address on ERC20. If the Suite shows a different network for a token, choose the same network in both apps. Because the device never exposes your keys, the only thing that leaves the Trezor is the coin you chose to send. The same logic applies to a Ledger, a Keystone or any other hardware wallet.
4Revolut
Revolut offers crypto to customers in the UK and parts of Europe. Inside Revolut you can sell crypto for pounds or euros, which is what "revolut exchange crypto to fiat" means, but that money stays in a Revolut account and cannot be paid into a Nigerian bank. Revolut also allows withdrawals of crypto to an external address for some customers, depending on the country of the account and the plan they are on.
If the coin you hold in Revolut shows a withdraw or send option, use it: paste the address from your Monica app for that coin and choose the same network in both apps. Revolut applies its own network fee and may ask you to confirm the address once. When the network confirms, Monica converts the coin and pays naira to your bank. If the withdraw option does not appear, the crypto can only be sold to a fiat balance inside Revolut, and you would need a different route to get naira.
5Stake and other sites that pay out in crypto
Stake is a betting site that takes deposits and pays withdrawals in crypto, including USDT. A USDT withdrawal from Stake to your Monica USDT address, sent on a network Monica supports, converts to naira the same way as a deposit from any wallet. Nothing on this page is advice to bet; it describes what happens to a coin that has already been withdrawn. The same applies to a freelance platform, a game, an airdrop or an employer: once the coin can be withdrawn to an address you choose, the Monica part is identical.
6The steps in Monica
- Verify your Monica account. Download Monica, sign up with your phone number and verify with your NIN plus a selfie. Verification is a one time step and usually takes a few minutes.
- Open the coin and copy the address. In the Monica app, open the wallet for the coin you are withdrawing (BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, SOL, BNB or TRX) and copy the deposit address. Note the network the app shows next to it.
- Start the withdrawal in the source app. In Cash App, Trezor Suite, Revolut, Stake or any other wallet or exchange, choose Send or Withdraw on the same coin, paste the Monica address and choose the same network in both apps. Approve the transaction.
- Wait for the network to confirm. Bitcoin usually takes ten to sixty minutes, Ethereum a few minutes, Tron, Solana and BNB Smart Chain under a minute. Monica sends a notification when the deposit is confirmed.
- Convert and get paid in naira. Tap Sell in the Monica app. The coin converts at the live rate with a 0% conversion fee and the naira is paid to your bank within 60 seconds of the network confirming, with 0% bank withdrawal fee.
7Fees, minimum and timing
Monica charges a 0% conversion fee and a 0% bank withdrawal fee. Deposits are free on USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, TRX and BNB. Bitcoin deposits carry a flat $2 fee. You pay the blockchain network fee when you send, and the sending app decides what that is: Cash App, Revolut and Stake each set their own, while a Trezor lets you pick the fee level yourself. The minimum deposit is $5 worth of crypto.
Timing has two parts. The network part is outside Monica: Bitcoin needs a few confirmations and can take ten minutes to an hour, Ethereum a few minutes, Tron, Solana and BNB Smart Chain usually under a minute. The Monica part is fixed: the naira reaches your bank within 60 seconds of the network confirming, any day of the week, to every Nigerian bank on NIBSS. The rate you receive is the live rate at the moment of conversion, shown in the app before you confirm, so there is no figure to quote here that would still be right tomorrow.
8When the source app will not let you withdraw
Some apps show a crypto balance but do not allow sending it to an external address. Common reasons: the account has not finished the app's verification, the feature is not offered in that country, the plan does not include withdrawals, or the balance is a price position rather than real coin. In those cases there is nothing Monica can do, because no coin ever reaches the blockchain. Complete the app's verification if that is the block, or sell inside the app to its own fiat balance and move the money a different way.
If a withdrawal was sent but has not shown up in Monica, check the transaction hash in a block explorer first. If it shows as confirmed on the right network to the right address, write to [email protected] with the hash and the app will trace it. If it was sent on a network Monica does not support, the wrong network guide explains what can and cannot be recovered.
Questions people ask
Can I withdraw Bitcoin from Cash App to a Nigerian bank?
Not directly. Cash App does not pay out to Nigerian banks. What it does allow is sending Bitcoin to an external Bitcoin address. Paste your Monica Bitcoin address into the Cash App withdrawal screen, choose the regular Bitcoin network, and once the network confirms, Monica converts it and pays naira to your bank within 60 seconds.
How do I move Bitcoin from a Trezor to naira?
Open Trezor Suite, select your Bitcoin account and tap Send. Paste the Bitcoin address from your Monica app, confirm the address on the device screen, and approve. There is no cap on the amount. When the network confirms, Monica converts the Bitcoin at the live rate and the naira lands in your bank.
Can I send crypto from Revolut to an external wallet?
Revolut allows crypto withdrawals to external addresses for some customers, depending on the country of the account and the plan. If the withdraw option shows on the coin you hold, send it to the matching address in your Monica app on the same network. If it does not show, your Revolut crypto can only be sold inside Revolut.
Can USDT withdrawn from a betting site be converted to naira?
Yes. USDT is USDT whichever platform sends it. Withdraw to your Monica USDT address on a network Monica supports, such as TRC20 or ERC20, and it converts like any other deposit. Monica verifies every account with NIN plus a selfie, and the usual fees and the $5 minimum apply.
Can you convert a crypto wallet balance to cash?
Yes, as long as the wallet can send crypto out. Send BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, SOL, BNB or TRX to the matching address in your Monica app. After the network confirms, the coin is converted at the live rate and the naira is paid to any Nigerian bank on NIBSS. You can then withdraw it as cash at your bank or ATM.
How much is $100 in USDT, and what does that become in naira?
USDT is designed to track the US dollar one to one, so $100 is about 100 USDT. The naira you receive is set by the live rate in the Monica app at the moment the network confirms your deposit. The app shows the figure before you send, and it changes with the market.
Which network should I choose when withdrawing from another app?
Choose the same network in both apps. Monica accepts Bitcoin on the Bitcoin network, ETH and tokens on ERC20, USDT on TRC20, ERC20 and BEP20, BNB on BEP20, SOL on Solana and TRX on the Tron network. If the sending app lists a network that Monica does not, pick another one or the deposit will not arrive.
