What is Monica?
Monica is a Nigerian coin-to-naira off ramp. You send supported digital assets (BTC, USDT, ETH, BNB, TRX, SOL, USDC) to a Monica-provided address; after network confirmation we convert them to Naira and pay out to your bank. You can also pay bills, buy airtime and data, and shop from over 1,000 digital gift cards, all from your phone. Monica is not an exchange, broker, advisor, or custodian of your private keys.
How can I purchase Gift Cards?
Open the Monica app, go to the Cards section, choose from over 1,000 digital gift cards, select the amount, and pay from your Monica wallet balance. Your gift card code is delivered instantly in app once payment is confirmed.
How secure are my transactions?
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your data and transactions against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Identity verification happens only inside the Monica app, never by DM or social media. Keep your device and credentials safe, since you are responsible for all activity on your account.
Why do you need my BVN?
We collect identity details, including your NIN, to confirm it is really you, prevent unauthorized access, and meet applicable Nigerian regulatory and information-sharing obligations. We only collect what we need to identify you, run payouts, and operate the service. Verification is completed only inside the Monica app.
Can I leave money in my wallet, and for how long?
Monica is an off ramp built to convert your crypto to Naira and pay it out to your bank. You can hold a Naira balance in your wallet to spend on bills, airtime, data, and gift cards. We retain your records only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal and record-keeping obligations.
How do I withdraw my funds?
Choose your payout bank in app, confirm the amount, and we transfer the Naira to your bank account. Bank transfer fees have been ₦0 since launch. We aim to process payouts quickly, though banking network delays, maintenance, or third-party issues can occasionally affect timing.
What fees does Monica charge?
Bank transfer fees have been ₦0 since launch (subject to change, and any change will be shown in app). For crypto conversions, the rate is shown in app at the time you confirm a transaction; by proceeding you accept that rate and any applicable network fees.
How does the referral program work?
Share your referral details from inside the Monica app to invite friends. When they sign up and start using Monica, you both can earn rewards. Full referral terms and any current reward amounts are shown in app, since they may change over time.
